American Red Cross Emergency Responder and Wilderness

Note: Space is limited in this class. Put an X in the grid if you want to attend but priorities will be given to those whose job description requires this training. You will be notified by email in mid-May if you are attending the class.

Training times: Sun.-Thu., May 25-29 – Training starts at 3 pm on Sunday.

Training begins at 3 pm on Sunday. You are welcome to come anytime after noon on Sunday. Report to the Retreat Center, which is the first building on your right as you enter camp.  Your name will be on the door of your room.

Come prepared to learn and practice hard. This is a 60+  hour course and we will be meeting until later in the evening most days. Casual comfortable clothes are best.

There will be other camp staff that will be attending the class. You will be staying in the Retreat Center. So have fun and get prepared as an Emergency Responder!

You will receive: Training in what to do when someone gets hurt or gets sick at camp.

  • Lots of practice for Emergency situations.
  • A chance to buy the textbook or just use one.
  • Lots of good food.
  • A comfortable place to sleep.
  • Lots of FUN!

If you study, practice and pass the practical and the written tests, you will receive the following American Red Cross Certifications:

  • Emergency Responder
  • CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer
  • Oxygen Administration

You will be taught by Marcel Snow, Support Service Director at Luther Point.
