Mark your calenders – It’s a great opportunity for all ages! There will be children and youth activities, a Pig Roast, Silent Auction, and a Farmer’s Market. Our annual Quilt & Craft auction will be held in the afternoon, featuring items ranging from handmade artisan crafts to original artwork to intricate, beautiful quilts. This is a great opportunity to spend a day at camp, enjoy some great food, bid on quality craft and quilt items, participate in activities for children and youth, and more. There is bound to be something for everyone!  Proceeds will be going to support the year round ministry of Luther Point.

Just Added – Music from Rachel Kurtz

We are so excited to be joined by Rachel Kurtz this year as she provides some music before and during our auction!  Rachel is an amazing singer/songwriter who has been a featured artist at the ELCA Youth Gathering and performs in many congregations and venues each year.  Whether you’ve heard her sing before or not, you won’t want to miss this opportunity!

Artisans and Quilters!

Handcrafted Items and Quilts – As is tradition, we will be having a quilt auction as part of the Luther Point Summer Celebration. It is our hope to have high-quality quilts and handcrafted items with minimum bids in order to honor the hard work that is put into each one of them. In addition to the beautiful quilts that so many of you have donated in the past, we would also like to strongly encourage quality hand-crafted items such as wood-crafted pieces, pottery, artwork, etc.

We know that many groups and individuals have already begun work on quilts and we very much appreciate it. In an effort to make the Quilt Auction less-drawn out and to honor the work done by ALL crafters, quilts and crafts will be available in one of three different places –on the Auction block, in a Silent Auction, and in a Quilt Store. On the quilt questionnaire, you may indicate where your quilt will best fit, though final decisions are left to the event staff.

Farmer’s Market –  This is another place where we can use your help. Please encourage gardeners you know to plant some extra produce this spring and donate it to Luther Point on August 3.  Keep in mind that the farmer’s market can include trees, plants, flowers, etc.

Theme Baskets– Theme baskets are great for both the Auction block and the Silent Auction. Gather a group of friends or your congregation and create an exciting theme basket. Ideas could include a sports team theme basket with game tickets, a Getaway package with lodging, baskets for scrapbookers, quilters, hunters, fishermen, etc. The value of your basket determines whether it fits best in the Silent Auction or the Auction Block. List a minimum bid and the value of the basket. We are challenging YOU to get creative!

Please download and attach one of the following cards to each item you turn into the Auction.
