Introducing Jesse Weiss, Program Coordinator
Greetings to all,
As most of your know by now, we announced three or four weeks ago that Bethany Walker our program coordinator has resigned her position here at Luther Point. Bethany has decided to dedicate the next several years to being a fulltime mom for Lillian. We are truly thankful for her faithful service to this ministry over the past three years. She will be greatly missed by all of us here on the year round staff and by the summer staffs that served under her direction. God’s blessing to Bethany, Nate and Lillian as they move and enter that new phase of their faith journey.
Obviously, this means that the camp ministry now faces a time of transition with a new Program Coordinator coming on board. I am confident that God has directed me in my decision to hire a new program coordinator in a very short time frame. The transition has already begun.
I am pleased to announce that the new Program Coordinator at Luther Point Bible Camp is Jesse Weiss. Jesse is a former camp staff person from 2003-2006 who knows the camp program and facilities very well. His last summer here in 2006 was Bethany’s first summer and Jesse served with Bethany as her program assistant.
Jesse is a native Wisconsinite. His growing up years were in the rural Osceola area and he and his folks are members at
West Immanuel Lutheran Church
in the rural Osceola area. Include in this announcement are a couple of short introductory paragraphs from Jesse. The following paragraphs are from Jesse. The program aspect of the camp ministry will be in strong and capable hands as Jesse Weiss comes on Board.

Introductory Letter from Jesse Weiss:
 Luther Point is a place that has had a deep impact on my life thus far. Through multiple summers as a camper and as a summer staff member, my time in this community has taught me so much about who God has made me to be and about His calling for my life. I am excited and blessed to be able to give back to the camp that has given me so much through being the Program Coordinator.
I was first introduced to Luther Point through my home congregation of West Immanuel Lutheran in Osceola, WI. As I went away to college at the University of Wisconsin – Stevens Point, spending my summers in this place seemed only natural. After four summers on staff and completing a degree in Soil and Waste Resources, God led me to attend Luther Seminary. I have one full semester completed at Luther Seminary, and will continue part – time in pursuit of a Master of Arts degree in Congregational Missions and Leadership. This will eventually lead me to be rostered in the ELCA as an Associate in Ministry.
Through the ministry of Luther Point, I hope to not only benefit the campers and staff coming to camp, but also the local churches in our area and the entire body of Christ. We are so blessed to have the campers here for a week or a weekend to be able to share the saving love of Jesus Christ with them, and I hope, pray and desire that they will take that message home with them to benefit their congregations, families, and friends.
