Dear House Boat Camper,

I want to thank you for choosing to attend LutherPoint’s F.L.O.A.T. (Forming Leaders in Outdoor Adventures Together) Program this summer.

The House Boat Trip offers an opportunity to learn more about God and explore how we live out our faith as God’s servants through several leadership training sessions led by a trained guest facilitator.  Each day you will also spend time experiencing faith-filled fun activities including: exploring, hiking on the shore line, swimming in the lake, relaxing, star-gazing, fellowship, and faith discussions.

While on the house boat, meals are planned with the following in mind: ease of preparation over a boat stove, nutritional value, and popularity of the food.  Meals are prepared and served in the house boats.  This allows you to have casual, family style meals during the week.

In addition to the What to Bring List, be sure to bring at least one pair of fast drying pants (not jeans), hiking shoes (that cover ankles- recommended) and a light weight jacket (fleece- recommended).  Remember that space is limited in the house boats.

Our House Boat staff are trained in first aid and emergency procedures, as well as in houseboat operation and lifeguarding.  If it rains the group will not be pulled from the lake.  You will take shelter and wait out the storm.  If the weather is severe, every effort will be made to get you off the lake to shelter.  If you have any questions about this please call the camp office at (715) 859-2215.

Don’t forget to read the Facts sheet for other important camp details. I am excited that you will be part of our House Boat Leadership program this summer atLutherPoint.  May you discover God in amazing ways during your upcoming outdoor adventure!  This is an experience you won’t forget.
